Located in the great Robertson Valley of the South Western Cape in South Africa lays Arabella Estate. This winery is rich with family history and how one man’s vision turned an arid desert into a land of flourishing vines. Arabella is where wine and horses have always played a prominent role, as the red, calcarious soils seem to favor them both. Arabella wines are an incredible value and continue to be discovered by those who can appreciate the quality of fine wine without the cost.

Robertson Valley
Robertson Valley is a wine-producing area in the Breede River Valley region of the Western Cape, 100 miles east of Cape Town. Robertson Valley is one of South Africa's better-known wine-producing areas and is associated with the production of rich, fruit-driven red and white wines made from Chardonnay and Shiraz. The dry, hot climate in Robertson Valley is optimal for the production of premium grapes. While daytime temperatures can get up to 85F, evenings are much cooler. This diurnal temperature variation means that the grapes have a chance to cool down overnight, letting them retain acidity while still developing rich flavor profiles. While Robertson Valley is not as historically significant as Stellenbosch or Paarl, it is still home to some of South Africa’s best-known wine estates.
