Mile Marker Wine Company

Mile Marker Wine Co. was started by Lisa Bonet and Bobby Flournoy.  With the help of Winemaker Rob Stuart, support from their friends and family, and a little bit of good luck, they launched their little winery in January of 2010.

Found along side every road they travel, denoting how far you’ve gone or have yet to go, those green Mile Marker signs help take you on your trip. Mile Marker Wine Co. takes you on a different journey, one that allows an affordable opportunity to taste wines from around the world, made to emulate the best characteristics of each region. Each Mile Marker number on the bottle corresponds to the location of the vineyards where the grapes were grown, giving that sense of place they love about wine.

McMinnville is an AVA on the edge of the Willamette Valley in Oregon. This AVA – the most westerly in the Willamette Valley – is one of Oregon's key Pinot Noir producing areas. The red wines made here are rich and structured, with complex flavors of dark fruit and spice. McMinnville became an AVA in 2005, although the first vineyards were planted here in the 1970s as growers who were disillusioned with California Pinot Noir began to move north. The most distinguishing feature of the terroir in McMinnville is the soil, which is more marine-influenced than much of the rest of the Willamette Valley. While Pinot Noir makes up the majority of plantings in McMinnville, some fresh, textured white wines are produced in the region as well, mostly from Riesling, Pinot Gris and Pinot Blanc.
